Baltimore Orioles (Orlando Magic 30th Anniversary Color Flip - TOPPERZSTOREUSA)

Every team competing in the 2026 World Baseball Classic has played exhibition games earlier this week and some official play already began as of this post with Australia and Korea already gaining official Pool C victories over Taipei and Czechia, respectively. I would love for some sort of rematch between Japan and the United States but I do hope Australia also advances.

This week's post will give some room for the WBC participants to breathe a bit as it also allows me to focus on today being National Oreo Cookie Day which is significant because the last time March 6 fell on a Friday was in 2020. In retrospect, that 2003-04 Oneonta Tigers cap would have definitely been a fine opportunity to highlight the holiday.

The following week I posted a 1994-96 Oneonta Yankees cap, and my corresponding Instagram missive just so happened to feature the hat alongside a "The Most Stuf" Oreo package that my sister had sent to me.  Looking back at that post, I now realize I totally neglected to mention the Oreo holiday being the previous week. Lots going on in March 2020, I suppose!

I plan to correct things in this week's Instagram post as well as in this blog entry, as this Baltimore Orioles cap done up in an Orlando Magic colorway from TOPPERZSTOREUSA has an Oreo feel as well, which is timely as the Magic's road game against the Atlanta Hawks on March 16 happens to fall on "Magic City" night, which you can read more about here.

Instead of delving into that somewhat controversial discussion at this point, I think it makes more sense to focus on this week's hat, which is a special one to me because I missed out on the "Candy Pack" release from Hat Club in 2021. After checking out photos of this week's cap, I hope you'll agree with my assertion that this week's post corrects that misstep!

The Magic pinstripe look is such a perfect backdrop on the blue O's logo here that I actually prefer this one over Hat Club's release.

I'm not a big side patch guy but the reference to Camden Yards inaugural season in 1992 ties in nicely with the overall throwback theme of the aesthetic that I love.

White guts means I'm going to have to be judicious as to how often I break this one out but I have a feeling it's special enough that it won't be in any sort of regular rotation so that I can keep it fresh for as long as possible.

The grey undervisor is a great touch and I love the flat batterman here as well.

This week's Fresh Fitted Friday selection is not going on the Trading Block however please don't hesitate to reach out if you want any other cap from that list and you are willing to part with any of the hats on my Wish List.
