2003-04 Oneonta Tigers

Wella-wella-wella-welcome Back! Thanks to everyone for your patience while I was on my hiatus. Just to fill y'all in, I had some wrist pain so I had to take a break from the blog to give myself time to recover. Hopefully you feel it was warranted. If not, stop beefin'!

Only problem is now I'm feeling a little out of practice so how about we just view these next few posts as if they were Spring Training? Kidding aside, this minor setback really put things into perspective for me in terms of injuries, especially in sports.

Not being able to ride a bike for a month was challenging so I can't imagine what a big leaguer goes through with a similar injury. Then again, teams have a medically trained staff to handle this sort of thing so let's scrap that thought and I'll get back to writing about hats.

As you might recall, my last post before the break was the Norwich Sea Unicorns of the New-York Penn League so for this week, I decided to feature an ancestral link to the Norwich team's predecessor, the Connecticut Tigers which existed from 2010-2019. What you might not know however is that from 1995 to 2009, they were the Oneonta Tigers.

This iconic cap logo will forever be engrained in my memory but to be perfectly honest, I've always just felt it looked like a tiger busting out of an Oneonta Yankees cap logo. Struggles of a kid from the 80's/90's, I suppose.

I've tried no avail to find out who wore number 39 on the Oneonta Tigers. My only guess is it was used by a coach or maybe even more likely it was a player who didn't last very long on the team. Or maybe it was a fan who wished he was number 39 on the Oneonta Tigers!

This one is not going on the Trading Block however please don't hesitate to reach out if you want any other cap from that list and you are willing to part with any of the hats on my Wish List.

As always, thanks for coming back to read about baseball hat geekery. I've got comments disabled here so if you'd like to discuss a trade or simply just chat about hats, please feel free to connect via the following social sites:
