2006 Jacksonville Suns Batting Practice

I struggled to come up with this week's Fresh Fitted Friday selection until I decided the halfway point of Spring Training is as good a time as any to show love to Florida, especially in light of recent current events that have taken place there. I then discovered the perfect cap tucked away deep in my closet: a 2006 Jacksonville Suns "Batting Practice" hat.

I'm a glutton for Jacksonville baseball caps, even if it's one that is definitely from the years they were affiliated with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Luckily for me, this cap features a Golden State Warriors colorway...

Besides comfort, a big reason why I love BP caps is because they are the rarest caps to find since they were produced in such limited quantities. It's also hard to pin a year down on when a BP cap was worn but I was able to do so with a little help from my google-box.

Minor league baseball cards do not typically show players wearing batting practice hats and uniforms so I'm glad to have found this photo of Blake DeWitt wearing today's featured cap during batting practice in 2006.

The photo above this one is all I need to estimate a year for this cap however it's worth nothing these sweatband tags were predominantly used from 2002 until 2005 and the satin taping is of the 2003-2004 variety.

The red, white and blue batterman looks spectacular on this royal blue crown. Also, did you really think was going to say it was Dodger blue?

I hope you enjoyed reading about this classic hat which is the first in a series of some fun Florida teams. This cap isn't for sale or trade however don't hesitate to reach out if there's something you like on the Trading Block and you are willing to part with any of the hats on my Wish List.

As always, thanks for coming back to read about baseball hat geekery. I've got comments disabled here so if you'd like to discuss a trade or simply just chat about hats, please feel free to connect via the following social sites:
