2018 Gwinnett Stripers - Fresh Fitted Friday!!!

Many thanks for your understanding of my absence the past few weeks. I've been meaning to do one final Fresh Fitted Friday tribute to the 2021 Atlanta Braves for putting an end to both of baseball's top villains of this season in the last two rounds of the playoffs but just haven't been able to get to it until now.

I suppose the beauty of the offseason is I've got nothing but time on my hands so without further ado, I present to you the 2018-present Gwinnett Stripers on-field alternate cap.

This is the Brandiose-designed cap that the Stripers have worn as an alternate since their rebrand in 2018. I personally love the thought of a fish smacking a baseball with its tail rather trying to hold a bat with its tiny fins. I think when you're playing baseball in the water, you should have a special set of rules but maybe that's just me.

This cap is of the Made in Bangladesh variety and to be honest I can't speak to the quality of its construction as I haven't worn it much

The lighting was tricky while I was getting this shot but hopefully you can make out how nicely the lime green plays into the MILB batterman here.

When the Richmond Braves became the Gwinnett Braves in 2009, the time was ripe for the revival of the famed GB cap logo the Greenville Braves left behind when they themselves relocated to Mississippi in 2005. The entire Braves organization might be steeped in nostalgia but I suppose it makes sense they didn't want their new Triple-A club to wear the old cap design of their old Double-A team.

Still though, the Greenville Braves logo has and will always be my favorite logo of any Braves affiliate so hopefully at least a variation of it could be created if there is ever a new affiliate based in a town with an "E" or "F" as first letter in its name. I know it's a long shot but just the thought of that logo has me reaching for my metaphorical wallet.

This week's Fresh Fitted Friday selection is not going on the Trading Block however please don't hesitate to reach out if you want any other cap from that list and you are willing to part with any of the hats on my Wish List.

As always, thanks for coming back to read about baseball hat geekery. I've got comments disabled here so if you'd like to discuss a trade or simply just chat about hats, please feel free to connect via the following social sites:
