Pre-1974 Buffalo Bills - Mitchell & Ness Retro

We're halfway through the first month of 2021 and I'm still feeling good about about this year so far. Last week's Buffalo Bills hat didn't bring any misfortune upon their Wild Card matchup against the Colts and I'm hoping to keep the mojo alive with another Bills cap this week.

In last week's post, I offered my take on the long-established maxim “out with the old, in with the new” in regards to the inspiration behind my selection of the first hats of the year and this early-era Buffalo retro from Mitchell & Ness fits the bill (I'm sorry) perfectly.

That bison might not look speedy but it travels further in the wayback machine than last week's cap as this logo design was retired after the 1973 season.

The "new" component of the expression “out with the old, in with the new” lies in the fact that I've never once written about a Mitchell & Ness cap on this blog before now so here's to another first, folks!

Like last week's cap, the red underbrim attracted me to this one but what I really like is the wool cloth used here. In fact, the material reminds me of the quality seen in Ebbets Field Flannels caps.

Of course, I'll be wearing this hat as the Bills play their second playoff game of the 2020 season tomorrow and you can be sure I've got more Buffallove headgear as the Bills continue their historical run toward the AFC Championship.

This week's Fresh Fitted Friday selection is not going on the Trading Block however please don't hesitate to reach out if you want any other cap from that list and you are willing to part with any of the hats on my Wish List.

As always, thanks for coming back to read about baseball hat geekery. I've got comments disabled here so if you'd like to discuss a trade or simply just chat about hats, please feel free to connect via the following social sites:
