Chaquetas de Rancho Cucamonga (Copa de la Diversión)

While the Blue Jays leading the score throughout most of Game 7, I was collecting my thoughts for this week’s Dodgers-themed post to have a consolatory tone as opposed to a congratulatory one but alas, baseball is weird.

Baseball is also entertaining, as well as thought-provoking, and the unexpected ending of the 2025 World Series sent me in such a frenzy that I found myself ruminating for days over so many of the seemingly insignificant plays during Game 7 that ultimately led to the Blue Jays losing the series in the 11th inning. It has been almost a week and I’m still stunned.

I turned off the TV immediately following the game’s final out. Maybe in my heart it was because I was angry at myself for believing there could really have been any other winner besides the Dodgers. Maybe I’m still not over witnessing the their on-field celebration after defeating the Yankees in Game 5 of the 2024 World Series.

I even attempted to abstain from social media this past week to avoid taking in their joy, however I cannot miss my chance to offer a timely post for this week’s Fresh Fitted Friday.

I have not completed my conversion to "Side Patch Guy" quite yet but I can certainly appreciate how the script lettering on the front here provides context for the embroidery on the side.

For those unaware of the backstory on this alternate identity for the Dodger's California League affiliate, Rancho Cucamonga resident Joe Kelly wearing a charro jacket to the White House in 2021 after the Dodgers won the World Series the year prior. Here's a quick write-up on this Copa identity if you're interested in learning more!

I'm not sure if I'll ever actually wear this cap because I don't to be mistaken for a Dodgers fan but I think only hardcore baseball fans would even pick up on the connection. The more important reason is I want to keep the sweatband, visor and creamy crown as clean as possible!

I didn't want to write too many good things about the Dodgers winning their championship so I hope this is the last one I have to worry about for a while. Wishful thinking, I know!

This week's Fresh Fitted Friday selection is not going on the Trading Block however please don't hesitate to reach out if you want any other cap from that list and you are willing to part with any of the hats on my Wish List.

As always, thanks for coming back to read about baseball hat geekery. If you'd like to discuss a trade or simply just chat about hats, please feel free to connect via the following social sites:
