In last week's post I stated this week would be "somewhat related" to Spring Training with the inspiration being I am attending a family event in Phoenix this weekend although I hope you're not disappointed in it not being a proper Cactus League type cap because my intention from the outset was to feature this "reimagined" Phoenix Firebirds custom colorway from Hat Club!

| I decided a while ago the Phoenix Firebirds logo has a firm place among my favorites and this orange-drenched variant from Hat Club shoots that ranking way up high in the stratosphere for a San Francisco Giants fan like myself. |

| As a San Francisco Giants fan, I love an orange and black MILB batterman and I want to express again how thankful I am for Hat Club releasing this colorway. |
I love trips to warm places like Arizona during the winter months as they are the perfect escape from the brutal cold weather on the East Coast. They also fuel my desire to keep dreaming of my post-NYC life there so I can enjoy baseball almost year round as the transition from the regular season into fall league and then Spring Training would be seemless!
What would be even better for me is if there was a minor league team in Phoenix as those ballgames have always been more my speed plus I imagine the cost of going to Diamondbacks games will get expensive! My only hope is the region grows enough to justify a demand for both because I figure if Tampa and Minneapolis can make it work, surely Phoenix could as well.
If minor league ball ever returns to Phoenix, I would like to see the old Firebirds look get revived because designs from the 1980s-90s never go out of style in my view. A firebird rising from a flaming baseball is so undeniably tough and the phoenix imagery also acts as a fitting allegory for minor leagues return to the Valley of the Sun!
Images of former Giants like Will Clark and Matt Williams wearing the classic version of this cap are the reason the a vintage Firebirds cap was one of of the first ones I featured here. I even recently touched on the design in my Brewers "City Connect" post in my suggestion that San Francisco should leverage the phoenix rising from the flames logo for their City Connect logo!
Sadly the timing of this weekend's trip does not coincide with any baseball games but I expect to be back in Phoenix for some Cactus League action in 2027 or 2028. As a consolation—that was totally unnecessary, but wholly appreciated— for this lack of baseball, my wife secured tickets to a Phoenix Suns game before our flight home Sunday night which I'm looking forward to!
This week's Fresh Fitted Friday selection is not going on the Trading Block however please don't hesitate to reach out if you want any other cap from that list and you are willing to part with any of the hats on my Wish List.
