Pre-1974 Buffalo Bills - Mitchell & Ness Retro

We're halfway through the first month of 2021 and I'm still feeling good about about this year so far. Last week's  Buffalo Bills  hat didn't bring any misfortune upon their Wild Card matchup against the Colts and I'm hoping to keep the mojo alive with another Bills cap this week. In last week's post, I offered my take on the long-established maxim “out with the old, in with the new” in regards to the inspiration behind my selection of the first hats of the year and this early-era Buffalo retro from Mitchell & Ness fits the bill (I'm sorry) perfectly. That bison might not look speedy but it travels further in the wayback machine than last week's cap as this logo design was retired after the 1973 season. The "new" component of the expression  “out with the old, in with the new”  lies in the fact that I've never once written about a Mitchell & Ness cap on this blog before now so here's to another first, folks! Like last week...

2016 Buffalo Bills "Sideline" Cap

Welcome to the second consecutive Fresh Fitted Friday of the new year, folks! For those counting at home, today's entry makes me 2-for-2 for posts in 2021 which, in my opinion, is quite the way to start off the year. Last week's post was a bit subdued so I hope your tolerance for braggadocio is high because I've got some big news to boast about: this here blog will be celebrating its tenth anniversary this coming August! A decade is a long time to be consistently doing the same thing. I suppose the blog's longevity can be attributed to a few different components with the first being that I own an absurd amount of hats. More importantly, I enjoy writing about them and I'm glad to have this fun hobby on top of a hobby that's already loads of fun for me. While thinking about this milestone a bit this week, I revisited all of my posts going back to the beginning and noticed that I’d never once written about an NFL team's hat.
