Harrisburg Senators (2022 Road Cap)

This Harrisburg Senators "Road Cap" was selected for this week's  Fresh Fitted Friday post  as tribute to Kamala Harris who served a term as a United States Senator from California from 2016 until assuming her current role of U.S. Vice President in 2021. Earlier this week, V.P. Harris lost her campaign for the office of U.S. President which makes the subject of this week's post the fourth in a row to have the "Didn't Work Out This Time" theme. Ahead of writing this week, I intended to claim that I do not make a habit of churning politically concentrated posts but looking back through the archives confirms this is the third time the attention shifted to  Presidential  matters. While this blog started in 2011, the election in 2012 was not covered as my only post that year was in April. AT any rate, this coming Monday is also Veterans Day so the patriotic focus feels today even more apt. Beyond the flag-loving aspect of this cap, I am enthralled by the comb...

1992 Reading Phillies

Well folks, thanks for being understanding of my need to take a minor break from the good ole Baseball Milquetoast blog experience last week but rest assured because we're back now and ready to be better than ever!  I've spent most of this pandemic writing about West Coast caps and since I'm ready to start showing love to the East Coast once again, we're going to start that trend off with a Reading Phillies hat which is fitting as I'm totally STOKED on Pennsylvania at the moment. I've never been much of a fan of red hats and especially less so over the last four years but there's a small chance I'll warm up to them again soon because 2020 has been a wild year so who knows what's going to happen next, right?!? Reading wore this cap from 1992 through 1997 but the lack of the New Era flag tag on the sweatband confirms that this particular one wasn't worn after 1996. I have come to believe that the MILB batterman began to appear on MILB caps in 1993 ...

1990's Clinton LumberKings Cap - Fresh Fitted Friday!!!!

Writing last week's post, I had a vision as to how the next few days would unfold regarding the Presidential election of 2016 and how it would relate to the next post here. Well  I was totally wrong in my assumption but regardless of that, if you love baseball then just know I want you to come here every week so I promise the political tie-ins will be minimal! I really did think I'd be so clever by writing about Iowa's Clinton LumberKings. I asumed I'd be making a wink and a nod toward the team's host city as well as the name of the candidate who I had assumed would be the President-elect of the United States at this time.  Do you recall  last week's homage to a burly hirsuite man ? He was wielding a long wooden apparatus meant to be used against a round ball, too! The lack of an MILB batterman logo on the cap's rear and the squarish grey underbrim is similar to most Pro-Line caps from the mid-1990's. The iniside tags are consistent w...
