Acapulco Gold "Ghost Army" (Gold Lightning)

Just as I anticipated, I'm back within a month of my last post and just the thought of regularly writing again is very comforting as this summer has been busier than usual for me. I'm now mentally preparing myself for autumn and all the fun activities that I associate with the season with the top item of that list being Halloween!

The tradition of remembering the departed is celebrated around the world throughout different times of the year and can known by a variety of names. For example, in China and many parts of Southeast Asia, the Ghost Festival, also known as the Zhongyuan Festival, takes place on the 15th day of the 7th month of the lunar calendar, which is today on the western calendar.

One aspect of Ghost Festival is that spirits that are ignored are thought to create mischief and those wily activities are the inspiration for this week's Fresh Fitted Friday selection whose gold lightning bolts on are designed to pay tribute to the “Ghost Army” which was a tactical deception unit in WWII. Awareness is a key trait in anyone who wants to survive war and Ghost Festival!

I enjoy when people try to guess "what team" this logo represents a lot more than the shrug I get when I tell them it's not really a team at all.

This hat was produced in 2012 and I've been very careful as to not overwear it because I'd really love to hang onto it in this condition for another ten years at least.

When people see the stitching on the back of this hat first they often wonder what could possibly be on the front. Imagine their confusion when they see three lightning bolts and nothing else. Rather tricky I'd say!

I've written about the red variant of this week's Fresh Fitted Friday selection before however last time I neglected to share much history on the military squad so for those interested, this time I've got a fantastic link to a article on The Top-Secret WWII Unit That Fooled the Nazis. And here's a good one on the Ghost Festival case you're interested in learning more about that!

This week's Fresh Fitted Friday selection is not going on the Trading Block however please don't hesitate to reach out if you want any other cap from that list and you are willing to part with any of the hats on my Wish List.

As always, thanks for coming back to read about baseball hat geekery. I've got comments disabled here so if you'd like to discuss a trade or simply just chat about hats, please feel free to connect via the following social sites:
