Looking back on last week's Riverside Pilots post, I am only now appreciating how the aviation theme of the team's name dovetails with a nautical element of being a former Seattle Mariners affiliate. Similarly, the bird in the logo of this week's Staten Island FerryHawks hat meets that flight requirement while the water surrounding their ballpark provides all the necessary aquatic vibes.

| This is also my first Atlantic League of Professional Baseball (ALPB) cap and while I'm not particularly crazy about gratuitous side embroidery in general, I appreciate the symmetry this one has with the OC on the other side. |

| The breathability of the mesh material here is a welcome change to the hotbox nature of New Era caps. Although as a wearer of 7 3/8 this L/XL size is a bit loose, which is probably fine since I might not want to feel the stretching happening. |

I will be wearing this week's Fresh Fitted Friday selection while on the Staten Island Ferry later this afternoon en route to my final FerryHawks game of the season. I'm trying to think of a way to incorporate "air" into my method of transport but I'm drawing a blank besides the miscellaneous elevator rides and chartering a helicopter to the ferry terminal isn't an option.
I'm also struggling to find an existing "Air and Sea" equivalent to "Surf and Turf" that's better than "Sky and Turf" but that's my best option and how I'm going to tag this post as well as those that fit the bill in the future. And because I have so much time on my hands, I might just retroactively tag previous posts that showcase this concept!
And if you happen to have some spare time, check out this article on the FerryHawks written ahead of their inaugural season in 2022. I was personally hoping they would go with the Staten Island Shaolins as a tribute to Wu-Tang Clan or Staten Island Skippers/Sailors but birds are always a safe choice, especially when it's an apex predator type of bird!
