1994-96 New Orleans Zephyrs

It's been over a month since my last post but things don't feel all that different for me as it's just as cold in New York now as it was then although at least I've got a little change of scenery right now as today I'm en route to New Orleans for my first time as an adult!

I was hoping to make this trip during Jazz Fest but the timing worked out for it to happen this weekend so here we are! I won't be in town long but I'm going to cram in lots of food and music-laden adventures and thankfully I've got a fresh New Orleans Zephyrs hat to wear while doing so.

I love the distinctive logo on this cap and even though this team's origins are based in Denver, the vibrant colors worked well when the team moved to New Orleans in 1993 as the team used the Zephyrs moniker until changing their name to the Baby Cakes in 2017.

The sweatband tags here are consistent with MILB caps that New Era produced from 1994 through 1996 and writing ones initials on the undervisor is definitely a strong mid-1990s move.

I have no idea who CFH is/was but their spirit continues almost 30 years later and is celebrated today as this hat is being worn for the first time today!

I realize that I haven't yet made any mention of the developments that occurred in regards to the Carlos Correa free agency saga that have transpired since my last post but now that he has officially returned to Minnesota I think the baseball world can breath a sigh of relief!

I do hope the San Francisco Giants can make some smart acquisitions before the season begins, especially because the next trip I'm planning is to see them play the Twins in Minneapolis in May. It would really get 2023 off to a great start to fully alleviate that sting of not landing Correa.

Besides the initials on the undervisor and variation in the sweatband tags, this cap is not much different than the Zephyrs caps that I've written about previously and if you are interested in checking out those related posts, you can do so by clicking this link.

This week's Fresh Fitted Friday selection is not going on the Trading Block however please don't hesitate to reach out if you want any other cap from that list and you are willing to part with any of the hats on my Wish List.

As always, thanks for coming back to read about baseball hat geekery. I've got comments disabled here so if you'd like to discuss a trade or simply just chat about hats, please feel free to connect via the following social sites:
