Summer just started feeling like it was in full swing but the heat letting up in the middle of August is a sure sign the season is about to wrap up. When you think that most MLB teams now have less than 40 games to play, it really does seem like time has flown so with that feeling coinciding with National Aviation Day this coming Monday, August 19, this Peninsula Pilots cap gets the spotlight in this week's post.

| Ok so maybe the undervisor is a little tattered but that can be expected for a cap that is over 30 years old! Plus I love that the last place on this cap's journey seems to have been a sort of thrift store within the Kiln Creek Country Club in Newport News, VA. |

| The New Era tag is the same as my "Sullivan" Pilots cap however that cap does not have an MILB tag. Also, the satin taping here is white as is the flimsy buckram behind the front panel while the other cap features black taping and a more sturdy buckram which is darker although that might be to some hard usage! |
I am so thankful for my friend who instantly thought of me the moment he saw this listing because the only other place I know to find one in good shape is an eBay seller who wants $399 which has black taping and just the New Era tag like the Sullivan cap. While that Sullivan cap does not specify anywhere to be 100% wool, in hand that would seem to be the case while this cap with the white satin taping feels a bit more like cotton twill.
Of course, I will continue to keep an eye out for another cap with black taping but in the meantime, this one will get some steady wear and I'l think of my thoughtful friend every time I put it on! It should go without saying this week's Fresh Fitted Friday selection is not going on the Trading Block however please don't hesitate to reach out if you want any other cap from that list and you are willing to part with any of the hats on my Wish List.
