Before writing about the retro of the cap worn by the New York Yankees in the 1996 World Series last week, I was on a consistent streak of sharing some neat minor league logos here. This week is a return to form as I have a South Bend White Sox custom done up by Krownz & Kickz on a vintage blank New Era cap procured by @yellowsub73 for whom I am so thankful!
I am also thankful for the Milwaukee Brewers' NLCS sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium yesterday. As someone who watched the Dodgers clinch the 2024 World Series in person at Yankee Stadium, that experience is one you wish to forget but never truly can. It is a good thing Dodgers fans have some recent wins in their memory banks to think upon this winter!
What's on the inside is what counts but not if it's just some silly branding tag! To me the imperfection on the sweatband is what makes this cap uniquely my own.
To align with the historical accuracy of this custom cap, there is no batterman logo nor New Era embroidery to compete for the attention of the main embroidery on the cap's front

There are not many household names who wore this version of the South Bend White Sox cap as players but their manager in 1992 was Terry Francona so thanks to comc.com for featuring a high quality image of his card from the 1992 Classic Best set.
I was hoping for this year's World Series to be between the Brewers and the Chicago White Sox, who were sadly defeated by the Cleveland Guardians in their ALDS matchup. There's still a chance for a Midwest Showdown if Cleveland defeats the Tampa Bay Rays in the ALCS which is what I'm hoping for as I had a great time visiting the ballpark in Cleveland a few months ago.
The homes of the Brewers and White Sox are both high on my list of places to get to next, and the priority for visiting Tampa is firmly at the bottom until their new ballpark opens. The Rays and Guardians were both fun teams to watch this year, so for next week's post I look forward to honoring whichever team loses their series, just as this week is a tribute to the White Sox.
This week's Fresh Fitted Friday selection is not going on the Trading Block however please don't hesitate to reach out if you want any other cap from that list and you are willing to part with any of the hats on my Wish List.
